Crystal – Office Manager

Crystal has been involved in the dental field for over 20 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and training with her to the Phelps Family Dentistry team. She completed her undergraduate and post-graduate education at the College of Southern Maryland, through the Maryland State Dental Board. Crystal also values her 16 years of on-the-job training that has prepared her for a variety of dental and office management situations. As our office manager, she is responsible for taking care of patients “behind-the-scenes” needs, assisting the doctors to treat their dental “family”, and guiding the office staff in treating each and every patient as a family member/friend. Crystal loves seeing the smiles on each patient’s face at the end of their office visit. Her passion for patient care is what drives her in her position at Phelps Family Dentistry. She loves that she gets to be a part of a practice that brings such excellent care and attention to each and every person that comes through the door. When Crystal isn’t at work, you can find her spending time with family and friends, traveling, enjoying good food, and attending concerts and movies with friends.

Candy – Front Desk Coordinator

Candy is from Michigan. She moved to Wilmington in 2012. Candy has done many things in the dental field such as being a lab tech, dental hygiene assistant and a front desk receptionist. She joined Phelps Family Dentistry in October 2020.
She loves to travel, and playing softball and volleyball. She loves Vietnamese cuisine and sushi. She loves sushi so much so that’s what she named her handsome Shih Tzu dog. She married her Junior High School sweetheart Roger. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you take care of your dental needs.

Marlene – Registered Dental Hygienist

Marlene has three decades of dental experience and has been working at our office for 20 years and counting. As a registered dental hygienist, Marlene is responsible for cleaning teeth, taking x-rays, showing patients how to brush and floss, screening for gum disease, and review patient health history. She wanted to pursue a career in dentistry because she didn’t have good dental care when she was a child. Marlene says working in this office is unique because of how much we care about patients like they’re family and because we’re able to offer sedation options to patients with severe dental phobias.

She really loves working with people and seeing how happy they are when their smile is healthy. Marlene is loyal, courteous, calm, responsible, and caring. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and being with her three adult children and dog. She also occasionally volunteers with “Second Helpings” at the Good Shepherd House.

Elaine – Registered Dental Hygienist

Elaine started her career working for a family in the heating and air conditioning business. After 21 years she was ready to move on to a more people oriented profession and that is where she found dentistry. She began her dental journey at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey where she earned an undergraduate degree. She continued on at Southern New Hampshire for postgraduate education. She has now been in the field for over 15 years with practical and teaching experience. At Eastern International College in Jersey City she was able to use her experience and train others in the dental hygiene field. Elaine enjoys watching her students and patients grow in the knowledge of their own dental health. She enjoys getting to know her patients and teaching them how to properly care for their teeth and to ensure they have a healthy and bright smile now and into the future.

When not in the office , she loves spending time with her husband and 2 Alaskan Malamutes at the beach, hiking , biking or traveling!

Peter – Registered Dental Hygienist

Pantelis “Peter” Bletsas is a NC native from Rocky Mount, NC. He is the youngest of 2 siblings. He did an apprenticeship in high school for his local dentist, inspiring him to continue his dental career. He completed his prerequisite classes at CFCC and then went on to graduate from Halifax Community college in 2016. He completed his boards at VCU allowing him to be licensed in 30+ states. He brought his passion for dentistry back to the coast where he knew he belonged.

Peters’ biggest philosophy with dentistry is education. He believes that with the right guidance of oral care he can help anyone achieve self-confidence through a healthier lifestyle. You might catch Peter down our halls cracking terrible dad jokes or doing anything he can to keep a smile on everyone’s face.

His skills are not only limited to dental, but extend into construction, which he did alongside his father in his younger years. In his spare time he loves doing anything outdoors. You can find Peter playing golf, on his boat, or riding local trails on his mountain bike.
